I’ve been managing Virtual Magpie for almost 8 years now. I was self-educated when I started the company, even as a hobby, and I kept doing it because I loved it. But in all those years, I still haven’t gotten to a point where I’m completely satisfied with the way things are. And after learning a lot, and being introduced to a lot of very interesting ways of doing business… I think it’s time for me to be satisfied. It’s time for me to make this company exactly what it deserves to be. It has been my sole support for several years now; it’s even supported my family, and that’s really something. But it’s time for Virtual Magpie to be more than just my day job.
I hope you see what I’m saying, because you’ll notice that we’ve gone right back to the drawing board, and are starting from scratch.
This is a big decision for me—it means moving into territory that is just a bit more new and wild than I’m used to. This leap of faith is long overdue. We have many wonderful, supportive customers and I really believe that this next step will serve all of us better. Including myself!
If you have questions, I want you to ask them. I am learning a lot of incredible new things and I am going to write about them as I begin to understand them. In fact, I’m hoping you’ll learn along with me—that is my first reason for creating this blog. We need our communities and relationships, they are so important. Comments will be open as a general rule, and I want to hear what you have to say.
Clear skies ahead! ~ Megan M.
