For those of you who are curious as to whether Marty obliged me in bringing Lysol when he came to the airport to pick me up, you’ll be entertained to know that he brought a big ol’ bottle of Febreze. Oh, ha ha. But he also brought me deodorant and a change of clothes, for which I am forever grateful.
I smuggled three bottles of Twisted River back to Texas in my luggage. Two orange labels, one yellow. We hadn’t been able to find it around here. I had a glass with a fabulous plate of salted cucumber with lime and a bunch of green grapes… it was at least as good as I remembered.
And so, concerned about how I would replenish the supply when these bottles are finally gone (and, um, when I am a little less broke), I went websurfing and discovered that I could order them online. In fact, if I order them from this site, Wine Library, a case plus shipping costs exactly what I would have paid to buy them at Giant Eagle in Youngstown – minus the price of a plane ticket, that is. And I haven’t ever tried the green label yet… I wonder if they’ll let me mix and match…
