Okay, Heather was right. The HEB at 41st is the best HEB—and in addition to it being a gigantic store, there’s a Chase bank right in the building… and there’s a quarter machine. I got ten bucks in quarters out of that machine! That’s five to ten loads of laundry, ladies and gentlemen!
I think it took about fifteen minutes to get home, which is totally reasonable. Man, would I love to live across the street from that store. It took me longer to get down there but it was smack in the middle of traffic time, so that’s not incredibly surprising. I listened to my iPod and I just took my time, meandering, enjoying myself. Even the dawning realization of how incredibly expensive it is to eat well did not dent my disposition. Spent sixty bucks on delicious things (and quite a few cans of fruit and vegetables, cheap! Stockpilable!) and meandered right back home again. I left a few bags in the car. Just canned stuff and ramen. (Yes, I did buy ramen. My one concession…) Anyway, they were heavy.
It’s 10:30 and I’m starting to get a handle on my day. I hope yours will be beautiful!
