In fact, here’s a little preliminary taste of what’s going on in here…
Harvey Danger recently released a very insightful note about the fact that they’re offering their most recent album fee-free over the intarwub.
Whether or not people will buy something they can get for free is obviously a big question, and there are facts and figures to support both sides of the argument. We think it’s not only possible, but likely. The more fundamental challenge is ensuring people have access to your work to begin with.
I really believe in these principles, and I’m going to be posting more about them in the future. This isn’t about controlling someone’s experience—it’s about providing a part of yourself for others’ enjoyment, giving something to the rest of the world. In return, artists are supported by those who value their work—but you can’t force it. Items appearing in the news over and over again are making that more and more clear.
Please do keep emailing me! I’ve gotten a few really nice emails from folks in Wales since this site went up and that’s so exciting for me! I love to keep in touch with everyone I meet here and there and everywhere, so I want to keep in touch with you, too. ;}
Have a brilliant St. David’s Day on the 28th!

I do realize that I promised you updates back in December, but I just received my promised recording this week—so give me a few days to parse it out so that you can listen and read about the radio show. ;} Time flies, and I look up, and it’s the end of February! St. David’s Day is coming up, even… do you have delicious leek soup plans? Eek! I need delicious leek soup plans!
