Okay. I don’t have a bedside table yet. But if I did, these are the books that would be on it. Meme thievery nod to Mme. Matisse, whose website is possibly not work safe.
This is how I pass the time until my Macbook Pro is back in hand…
“How to Stop Worrying and Start Living” (Dale Carnegie)
I really like Dale Carnegie. He’s so down-to-earth, completely reasonable, always makes so much basic sense to me. He’s one of the authors that just makes all the pieces fall into place. So every time I start to become a crazy girl, I pick up this book…
“Harri Potter a Maen yr Athronydd” (J. K. Rowling)
I am a little bit bonkers for having ordered this, because of course my Welsh is hardly good enough to allow me to read this. But last night, reading the first few pages, I felt encouraged—I recognized dyn mawr, and gwallt melyn, and you know, right then, typing those, I didn’t need to go find them—I remembered them! And that gives me hope for my language skills.
“Think and Grow Rich!” (Napoleon Hill)
This is really good so far—mentioned in one of my favorite books of all time, Psycho-Cybernetics by Maxie Maltz, it is coming off just as good, except that it’s specifically about prosperity and, well, money. And god knows I’m not averse to accumulating money…
“Cashflow Quadrant” (Robert T. Kiyosaki)
This is actually the guy that started me thinking about money in the first place. The Rich Dad, Poor Dad book was actually really good—I think you’d be surprised—and this one seems to be moving in the same direction. It gives me good feelings. It makes me think and do instead of sit and stare… if that makes sense to anyone.
I need more thought and action… it will help. And, it’s about time to call down to the office, and then call DHL, and hope to god someone takes pity on me and brings me my laptop soon…
