Aside from what's in Maslow's Hierachy of Needs, we don't really need anything as specific as "Seth Godin's Alternative MBA Program". As you (or another applicant?) said, once-in-a-lifetime opps come every so often if you pay attention. Sometimes the rejection could lead to something better. A good philosophy, then, would be to give your best shot at this, but not to fall into a wreck if you're not successful. The universe is a tricky being! ;) Well thought out.
