Fundamental Techniques in Handling People

I’m sure you were wondering where all this was going! The truth is, February 9th began my Alt-MBA book discussion week, and my chosen book was one that means quite a lot to me: Dale Carnegie’s How to Win Friends & Influence People. (Incidentally, I’m giving my third Toastmasters speech tomorrow morning on the same topic. I hope it goes well!)

As you can see, I have a particular passion for this book because of its history in my family. So when it was time for me to give a presentation, the most logical thing in the world was to do some video! (Hey, I needed some more videoblogging practice anyway!)

In any case, here’s my overview and the first section of the book: Fundamental Techniques in Handling People!

* How to Win Friends & Influence People is here on Amazon (of course), and I highly recommend it.

    Fun video!

I have the book in my library but haven't read it. I'll have to bring it out!
  • @Regine - I haven't heard of it, but thanks for the recommendation!!

    Hi Megan,
I am just reading a book that goes in the same direction: I'm OK - You're OK by Thomas A. Harris. It was written in 1967 (ISBN: 978-0-06-072427-6). I feel pretty much the same about this one as you do about the Dale Carnegie book. It was written decades ago, but it is still the most up-to-date book I know. Do you know it? Very inshightful when it comes to communicating and dealing with people.
    Cheers,
    Regine
