Em’s New EP! (i.e., Familial Plug)

Filed under: — worldmegan @ 3:49 pm

The first big step is done – Em’s EP is finished. They’re taking pre-orders now for the official (insert fireworks here) release, entitled ‘Everything of Me’. Em has been working on finishing up a full-length album, and this is the prelude. It’s high quality and radio ready, and guys, the songs are GREAT. (I should be sick of them by now, but they’re still five-starred in all my playlists. She definitely got the music genes, even if she missed out on the brunette genes. Ha!) Here’s the songlist:

  1. Fall Out
  2. Payback
  3. Save Me
  4. Takin’ Over
  5. Everything of Me
  6. There’s a Fire Inside

She’s offering a free 8×10 with each of the pre-orders (of your choice, no less), which is particularly cool because the last photoshoot she did was phenomenal.

Kiddies, it’s ten bucks. Skip the airport margerita and buy this CD. It’s going to blow your socks off.

Instructions:
Click here for a PayPal page where you can pre-order. Then and let her know what photo you’d like, and ask her questions if you have them.

Please, please tell your friends, and link up if you happen to blog. The more word gets out, the sooner she can release the album. She’s burning the candle at both ends to get it done, and she’s totally grateful for any support you can give her!

Thank you for indulging my plugging. ;}

Bruuuuuce!

Filed under: — worldmegan @ 12:16 pm

What was I just talking about, zombies?? I downloaded the latest Slice of Sci-Fi podcast this morning and lo and behold, who has an interview with Bruce Campbell?? Mike and Evo?? Can you hear me squeaking? Grab the Slice podcast and take a listen, it’s so yummy! And if you don’t have a podcatcher, here’s a direct mp3 link for you:

  • Omg Bruce Campbell and Mike and Evo omg! Ugh. I sicken myself.

They also mentioned that Adrian Paul is executive producing and starring in a fifth Highlander movie, which has me distinctly worried. I never really enjoyed the movies (at least after the first one), and I adored the television series. None of the movie sequels were quite up to par. It will be nice to see Adrian Paul around, but…

Bruce is due in Cleveland at Twisted Nightmare for the Evil Dead reunion at the beginning of August, and as far as I know I don’t have anyone to go with me (unless Andy will oblige!), so let me know if you’re into the whole zombie scene and maybe we can car pool. I’m also looking at Cinema Wasteland in October, which would be a great opportunity for fun if I can get some of you folks to tag along. (Honestly, Cinema Wasteland seems more doable. Wince.)

The Chin is on a book tour for Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way, which is, apparently, a novel of sex tales (sex tales!?) – he says, “Is it an ‘autobiographical novel’? Yes. I’m the lead character in the story and I’m a real person and everything in the book actually happened, except for all the stuff that didn’t.” I think that tells you what you need to know. ;}

I haven’t read this book yet, but I somehow think it’s bound to be entertaining. I might just wait for the audio version they’re talking about, since I can get it through Audible (hopefully).

Okay, that’s it for Thursday. I am a completely hopeless fangirl on Thursdays. Sigh.

Zombie Goodness

Filed under: — worldmegan @ 2:17 pm

There are few things that look quite as satisfying as spending an afternoon lumbering around like zombies. These folks have got it down pat, man. Apparently they felt the larpers needed a real foe, and gave them one. Then they mobbed the local McDonalds for purposes of victorious celebration. The best pictures, the ones that made me feel so warm and fuzzy inside, are here.

There has been brief discussion of descending on the cheaps as a horde of zombies as soon as Land of the Dead forsakes the ‘spensive theaters. Who’s in? You know you want to.

There’s braaaaainnsss in it for you…

Mellowing

I came home tonight feeling laid back in a funny sort of way. I’m going to music-share again and see if I can get the idea across. Any of you know what I’m talking about?

Click here or on the radio.blog link on the bottom left to listen.

  • O del mio dolce ardor: David Daniels, who is astonishing. I realized recently that this song gives me a funny feeling in the pit of my stomach. There’s something dark to it that pulls me apart, like taffy.
    O longed-for object of my sweet passion,
    The air which you breathe at last I also breathe.
    Wherever I turn my gaze,
    Love makes me see
    Your fair features:
    My thoughts imagine
    The happiest hopes;
    And in the desire which thus fills my breast
    I seek you, call you, hope and sigh.
  • Cry Me a River: Lisa Ekdahl, who I discovered via Adri Tan’s site. I always heard about this song, but never really listened to it. It does the same thing. It pulls me apart. Like taffy.
  • I Will Hold On: All hail Moxy Fruvous.
  • Watermark: There isn’t actually anything in the whole wide world like Enya. In case you wondered.

As always, play if you have broadband. I think this gets the mellow out of my system for tonight; we’ll see how I feel in the morning.
