Exactly a week ago today, Marty and I were in the car with Vixen and Sean on our way to the Texas Renaissance Festival—again. It took a little figuring out to get the date right, because plenty of other stuff was going on, but we managed it, and we woke up bright and early (and stopped at Dunkin Donuts, eek!) so we could have plenty of time there.
It was a really nice day, and it was great to walk around and see lots of things. Marty finally got the axe he’d been wanting, which made him very happy, and I had some amaretto fudge, and we watched Tartanic up close and personal, and took pictures in the garden, and ate good food, and had a great time. We saw Scott and April and Jeff there, which was way neat—Scott and April both danced in the chainmail fashion show, which was so cool!! We saw Angel and Green and Joshua and Lora—they’d driven out separately—and spent a little time chatting and wandering before realizing it was getting very cold as it set into evening and deciding it was time to head on home.
I have a kabillion pictures, because I’d already been to the festival once, and the Texas sun made everything into a great photo. So you should go take a look at the ones I got, and enjoy yourself. Marty took a bunch of them, too. We had a good time and we got back by around 9pm, which was incredible! And I only dealt with a teeny bit of crazy, got to rant a little at Green, got to walk around by myself for a few minutes (avoiding the smoke in the pub), and still got to bed at a reasonable hour. Pretty damn good, I think. (Also, Sean picks out the BEST bagels and cream cheese.)
